Oh, yes!! They're back!! Yes folks!! Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are back for another film!! They're a perfect British double act, starting off in Spaced, and then hitting the big time with Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Just when they couldn't get any bigger, they just did!! They went to work with Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson on The Adventures of Tintin!!
Now, they're at it again, with a screenplay they've both written together!! It's a film about fanboys, (which they both are), and it tackles aliens as well. Paul see's Pegg and Frost go to America with a sci-fi comedy, on a roadtrip with a good supporting cast!!
Paul is about 2 English comic-book geeks and conspiracy theorists Graham Willy (Pegg) and Clive Gollings (Frost), who go and visit the world famous San Diego Comic-Con, after that, they go off on a road trip across America to Area 51, and encounter a hitchhiking alien called Paul, (voiced by Seth Rogen!!
), and Graham and Clive try to help Paul get home.
It's good to see them working together again, they're such a good, funny double act. The banter between them is always hilarious, especially if it's down the pub or them two on the sofa.
Now, they're writing their own film. There's only one person missing, Edgar Wright. He's off in Canada filming Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, but he's still on as Executive Producer. To direct the film, they've found a perfect choice. Greg Mottola, best known for Superbad!!
And they've also nabbed a good supporting cast. Jason Bateman (off Arrested Development and Juno) is in it, Jane Lynch (also off Arrested Development) is in it, Bill Hader (who was in Knocked Up and Superbad), is in it. And best of all, they're getting Sigourney Weaver to be in it!!
She's used to aliens and stuff as we know!!
Here's a first look at the script!!
So, how's about this then?? It's always good to see Pegg and Frost together. As for Tintin, we're gonna have to wait until late 2011 until that comes out, and they're both due to do The World's End with Edgar Wright sometime soon. So, they're gonna be busy. They're currently filming this now in New Mexico, and it will be out for next year. Knowing Pegg and Frost, this'll have references to the sort of films they grew up they grew up with and love so much. This will be worth seeing!!
