| Bryan Singer is back with a new film, and he's come a long way since The Usual Suspects, he went epic with the X-Men films and Superman Returns. His WW2 thriller Valkyrie was a great, suspenseful character piece, misunderstood by some and snubbed at the Oscars too. However, for his next film, he's heading into the world of fantasy. It comes from a bit of Cornish folklore, which was made into a film in 1961, although it's reviews weren't good. However, Bryan Singer has a new vision of Jack the Giant Killer, and he's got a good ensemble for it. Set during the reign of King Arthur, it has a Cornish farmer's son named Jack (Nicholas Hoult) who earns the nickname of Jack the Giant Killer after slaying a dragon called Cormoran, and Jack becomes servant to King Arthur's son, while continuing to encounter Giants. It's a good idea for a film, and Singer has shown he has confidence with special effects too, although Singer is going for RED EPIC 3D on this one. Yet, he's got a good supporting cast for this one, including Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and now it looks like Ewan McGregor is also joining the film!! It'll be a good little alternative to Clash of the Titans and it's sequel. | |

| Either the test audiences have been less than kind or Singer needs more time. | |
