| The Dark Knight appears to breaking records left, right and centre. It's taken $300 million in just 10 days, beating the previous record of 16 days set by Dead Man's Chest.
I'm glad it's doing welI, but I hope it doesn't overtake Return Of the King!

| After the generally poor quality of most of last summers blockbusters, this year has, so far been a doozy.
TDK is top notch comic book action from start to finish, with a great (but not oscar worthy) performance from Ledger and (IMO) an even better, more understated one from Eckhart.
Not quite as enjoyable as Wall-E, but probably beats Indy and The Mist to the number two slot for my film of the year.

| TDK is awesome beyond words!! Fantastic! Best film ive seen this year, i doubt anything will eclipse it to be honest. I wanna see it again now Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker was astonishing. Seriously, it just didnt seem like Heath up on the screen at all, all i saw was The Joker - y'know some films where its so and so up on the screen you think oh look its actor x there - but not in this case. He's nailed the insanity of the character down to a tee, you really believed he was real - the way he spoke, his movements, his tics all of it amazing. Nicholson's Joker was good - in a dodgy old uncle kinda way, but Ledger's blows him out of the water - dangerous yet amusing at the same time. I didnt care much for the Batman character - for me it was ALL about The Joker. And Two-Face/Harvey Dent was pretty good too | |

| Just an astonishing film from start to finish, Ledger was ace but so was everyone really (especially my dangerously underrated twin Anthony Michael Hall (more of him please)... especially amazing on IMAX

Not quite as enjoyable as Wall-E, but probably beats Indy and The Mist to the number two slot for my film of the year. I'd probably agree with that. I did like Wall-E more, but this isn't that far behind, although I think I like Begins more. There was a great sense of dread throughout, due to the fact that the Joker was a complete nutter and you never knew what on earth he was planning, and there were a few scenes when the tension shot through the roof. I loved Harvey Dent as well, Eckhart was superb. It was the action that let it down for me really, it never reached the edge-of-your-seat thrills that it needed to.

| A few thoughts, including SPOILERS
Heath Ledger was absolutely terrific as The Joker, he looked brilliant and was genuinely menacing throughout after a superb introduction.
I have to agree with emo though that Aaron Eckhart was even better.
I really liked the batcycle, especially the way it just eased out of the batmobile. The scene where Batman tipped over the Joker's lorry was excellent.
Christian Bale was very good again as Batman/Wayne.
I felt that Michael Caine was a bit underused, it would have been nice to see more of Alfred.
Cool cameo from William Fichtner at the beginning.
Some things I wasn't so keen on,
I didn't like the way Gordon's fake death was done, and Gordon in general wasn't as good this time. He was one of my favourite things about the first film but this time he didn't seem quite as likeable.
I much prefer Katie Holmes over Maggie Gyllenhaal.
The soundtrack was a bit weird, there were times when i thought it just sounded like a siren or an alarm
Overall there was a lot that was very very good, it jsut didn't quite all fit together to make the film as brilliant I was expecting. With the positive reviews I thought I was going to see a film that would be immediately one of my all time favourites. But I didn't, not as good as Begins in my opinion.

| But the big question is, was it better than Wall-E? SPOILERS! I agree with you about Gordon to a degree, I still liked him, but the circumstances surrounding his death seemed iffy and I'm still trying to get my head round how exactly they planned it all? Think about it for too much and it makes no sense. It must be said though that I loved the music. Begins has a great score from Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, and this just seems to increase the level of dark broodiness. I'll hopefully buy it this week. I did love it overall, and it's the fact that I like it so much that gets it 5 stars I think, even though I was disappointed by aspects. I loved the almost epic tragedy that it involves, playing out in what is essentially a superhero film, and it works much, much better in this that others of its kind. | |

| I pretty much agree with all the positive things that have been said about this film!! Saw it last week and I thought it was brilliant!! I was worried that Health Ledger's performance would not be as good as anticipated (despite seeing the great trailers), but I was not let down at all. He inhabited the role completely...as Jinks said, every little tic (spectacularly creepy lick lipping), gesture (well helloooo beautiful) and laugh were believable. I also found myself wishing for Katie Holmes back in the role, not that there was anything wrong with Maggie G's acting (probably better in fact!), but I just felt that she didn't match the part as well. The music was magnificent in supporting the film - soundtrack arrived yesterday! ) The audience when I went to see it was brilliant! Have never reviewed an audience before but it's been a long time seen I've had such a group experience in the cinema with everyone reacting identically! No talking at all, no fidgeting, no loud food being eaten etc. There was a big group grimace at the pencil bit (which still makes me chuckle when I remember), and a group chuckle at the "Hello beautiful" bit, and an enmasse jumping 4" off the seat when the body smacked into the window Can't wait for Monday when I'm off to see it again...my excuse being that I'm going with someone who hasn't seen it yet, so I offered my company | |

| I saw this again last night and it was an improvement on last time and, seeing as I really did pretty much love it last time, that's not bad. My main gripe was the volume of the music and sound nea the end, it was almost impossible to hear some of the characters. | |
