Seth MacFarlane's Ted Empty
PostSubject: Seth MacFarlane's Ted   Seth MacFarlane's Ted EmptySun Jul 01, 2012 9:59 pm

Seeing as it's now the #1 film in America, it's time this film got it's own thread.

Seth MacFarlane is a genius and a jack of all trades, he went from animator at Hanna-Barbera to creating Family Guy, which was axed by Fox twice before fan demand saved it and made it bigger than The Simpsons in the ratings. He's also done American Dad! and The Cleveland show, and has acted in films and hosted some roasts for Comedy Central, and he did an album of big band classics entitled Music Is Better Than Words. Now, he's directed his first film, and it's got all the makings of a comedy classic, a brilliant concept. Ted is the sort of film we need now, and although it looks rude, it will be hilarious.

As a boy, John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) wished for his teddy bear called Ted to come to life, and Ted becomes a real live being (voiced by MacFarlane). 27 years later, and he's still around, and John is seeing Lori Collins (Mila Kunis), who wants to get closer to John, but can't because of Ted, who is boorish, ill-mannered and vulgar. So, Ted has to move out, and get a life of his own.

If a film has a swearing teddy bear in it, then it's going to be very good. We get it on August 1st, and as stated, it's had the biggest ever opening weekend for an R-rated comedy in America, beating The Hangover. The film has had nay-sayers even before it was released, saying Ted is just MacFarlane voicing him like Peter Griffin, but it's a great idea for a film, it's like the anti-Disney film. It should put us in good stead for when the Family Guy film gets made, this could be the comedy of the year.
