If they think they truly have the material to make a third film, then got for it. I have faith in PJ! I still think a large part of the unease from the public is no-one is entirely quite sure just what else from outside The Hobbit they've brought into the two upcoming films and how these extra bits will sit alongside the Hobbit story itself.

Well, there's The Silmarillion and there's Unfinished Tales.

Here's a trailer, looks identical to the one from December, but it has a few differences...
OK, here's how it is. The second film is now called The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug and the third film is called The Hobbit: There And Back Again, and that'll be released on July 18, 2014!!
They aren't going back to film new stuff so they must haves absolute loads of excess footage from which to make a third film, which kind of makes you wonder if that was the plan all along. Still, 3 films!!

I wonder if they'll have enough for any extended editions??
I did a silly thing today. When into Forbidden Planet to look at Hobbit merchandise. I them did an even sillier thing, Looked at their website for Hobbit merchandise.
Suffice to say, we're looking at £1000+ if I bought everything I liked!
I've been told not to with my birthday and Christmas coming up, as my family know that just about anything Hobbity will make me happy. I'm obviously not expecting the big statues and expensive stuff but there's plenty on there for people to choose from! After Christmas I'll treat myself to something though.

The words 'burning a hole in your pocket' come to mind.
