PJ says it'll be a month or two before any announcements on the casting of Bilbo Baggins. Plus, Tobey Maguire STILL isn't playing Bilbo despite recent rumours.

Not yet. I still think Tom Hollander might do a good job, but chances of him being picked are about 1 in 14 zillion.

True, but it did take take PJ the better part of 10 years to make LOTR, so he's used to big projects.

All eyes will be on Guillermo Del Toro with this one, he's proven himself with Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth, but this'll put him to the test.

Oh, and whilst we're on the subject, he says he shouldn't have been in Watchmen!! Shocked

Well, the writing was on the wall. I knew Del Toro would lose patience eventually.

So, where does this leave the film now?? Will Jackson pick up the reigns himself or will he find someone else to do it??

Umm, I know he's producing a new version of The Dambusters in 3-D. And he's also planning an adaptation of Naomi Novik's Temeraire book series. Though he may do a TV mini series of them!! Very Happy

Could David Yates, who has done the Harry Potter films since 2007, be up to do The Hobbit??

I like what he's done with Harry Potter.

EDIT: Warner Bros. and MGM want Jackson to do it.
