| Rob Marshall made a name for himself as a Broadway choreographer and director. He made the leap into films with the Oscar-winning Chicago (2002) and followed that up with Memoirs of a Geisha (2005). Now, he's back, taking on a 1982 stage musical, which in turn was based upon Federico Fellini's 8½ (1963). It's called Nine, and it looks brilliant and has a female cast to die for!! It has Italian director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis) trying to make a movie, but there's too many women in his life that get in his way. Including his wife, his mistress, his muse, his agent, and his mother. The female cast includes Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman, Penélope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Kate Hudson with Sophia Loren and Stacy Ferguson off The Black Eyed Peas!! Trailer!! This looks and sounds good, continuing the revival of the musical genre, this has a very classy vibe to it. The screenplay was done by the late, great Anthony Minghella, and this will be an ensemble piece not to miss. One of the finest actors of our time, with a female cast to die for, (5 of the 7 ladies have Oscars to their names.) It opens over here on November 25th, I smell an Oscar contender!! | |
